Event Description: This interactive forum provided participants with a greater comprehension of the professional opportunities and career pathways offered in the ever-competitive banking and finance industry today. The forum speakers provided insights on what to expect from a careers in the banking and finance industry, such as their day-to-day job responsibilities, challenges faced by fresh graduates and advice on how university students can be proactive in order to stand out among other job seekers.

Event Description: This roundtable talk focused on the fundamentals of technical analysis as there is a growing demand among Monash students to equip themselves with this particular skill set. The speaker shared on how technical analysis is used by fund managers in visualizing data efficiently for trading purposes. Participants also learned about the future trading opportunities in Malaysia and online tools available at their disposal in order to actively learn about technical analysis.

Event Description: The UOB Financial Literacy Program, which consisted of a seminar and a workshop, aimed to educate students on the importance of being financially savvy at a young age by enlightening them on the financial landscape, the effective management of financial risks and how to avoid financial pitfalls. Participants were divided into groups to play the renowned Praxis board game designed to make learning about financial planning fun and exciting for people from all walks of life.

Event description: The Monash ASEAN Capital Markets Summit was MUIG’s flagship event in 2017. The summit encourages students to learn more about ASEAN financial markets and creates a platform for attendees to better understand current economic affairs affecting ASEAN and global economic outlook. Participants can get a glimpse into practical aspects of the financial world through interactive forum discussions with speakers on six topics such as asset management, FinTech, corporate and investment banking as well as private equity and venture capital, to name a few.  
During Networking Lunch & Career Fair, corporate representatives from financial institutions and organisations such as Maybank, CIMB and Malayan Traders Capital were present at their respective booths for students to inquire career development opportunities as well as investment knowledge.

Event Description: Financial Literacy For Youths (FLY) Seminar was a collaboration between MUIG, FLY: Malaysia and MUSA School of Business. This seminar is held with the aim to increase awareness among Malaysian youths today on ways to establish financial goals to achieve financial independence through investment activities and personal finance.  
The seminar is divided into two parts: a lecture and a workshop. Participants were guided on budgeting, process of starting-up stock investments, mathematics for finance and methods of valuation for stocks with fundamental and technical analysis. A case study using real-life company data was used during the workshop where participants get to value its stock and come up with a buy/hold/sell decision.
